When do certain kinds of kinky images become illegal in the UK?
The Criminal Justice and Immigration Bill received Royal Assent on 8th May 2008. Sections 62 to 65 of the Bill make it an offence for someone in the UK to be in possession of "extreme pornography" - making no distinction between real or staged acts, or between those which are consensual versus non-consensual. These sections will most likely come into effect on January 1st 2009. Campaigning groups have produced a leaflet explaining as much as they know about the new law.
